Samsung’s Galaxy S8 has taken the smartphone world by storm with its sleek new look and powerhouse specs, so here’s your chance to figure out what all the fuss is about without blowing up your wallet. This page is for savings on huge data, budget plans, or simply the best overall value in a contract in Australia, but if you’re after the UK or US, head to the best Galaxy S8 plan in the UK or the best cheap Samsung Galaxy S8 deals in the US.
Although the Galaxy S8 is reasonably new, you can already find some amazing contract deals on it, and usually at more affordable prices than its current Apple rival, the iPhone 7. Virgin has the best value plan overall at the moment, with its 16GB plan only costing you $85 a month, and comes with unlimited calls and texts as well as some neat extras. And we’re still blown away by the monstrous 100GB plan from Optus, but there’s plenty more where that came from so read down the page to see what we recommend for each network this month!

The best Galaxy S8 plans (August 2017)
Here we’ve gathered three of the best deals across all the networks at the top of the guide, all of which are chosen purely on their respective values (as we don’t manipulate the results for commercial gain). Below that you’ll find the top plans section from the three major networks, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.
Best overall value — Galaxy S8 | 16GB data | Unlimited talk and texts | Music streaming that doesn’t count towards data | $85 pm
If you’re after unlimited calls and text, a huge amount of data (16GB is more than ample for heavy everyday use) and don’t want your music streaming to count towards this cap, then this plan from Virgin hits the mark. To top it all off you get $300 worth of international calls and texts. Total cost over 24 months is $2,040
Best budget option — Galaxy S8 | Unlimited talk and texts | 4GB data | Music streaming that doesn’t count towards data | $70 pm
While there is a cheaper tier on the Virgin network at $65 a month, the extra five bucks will net you unlimited national calls and texts rather than $300 of value, along with a massive data cap bumped up from 500MB to 4GB. You also get $100 worth of included international calls, and if you use select services (including Spotify and Google Play Music) it won’t count toward your data cap. Total cost over 24 months is $1,680
Biggest data option — Galaxy S8 | 100GB Data | Unlimited local, international, and roaming talk and text | $160 pm
If you use mammoth amounts of data, Optus is absolutely dominating this field at the moment – with a whopping 100GB of included data, this almost triples the nearest competition. Not only that but you won’t have to worry about any calls or texst you make as they are all unlimited, even international and roaming calls, and you’ll also get a nifty 1.5GB of included roaming data a month. Total cost over 24 months is $3,840
Now let’s break down the best Galaxy S8 plans and deals for August 2017 by network…
Best Galaxy S8 plans on Telstra (August 2017)
Best value overall — Galaxy S8 | 12GB data | Unlimited local and international talk and texts | $105 pm
Tesltra definitely aren’t the cheapest of the carriers, but if you’re after the perks specific to this telco, then this plan has the best of everything. This is one of the cheapest plans that will give you unlimited international calls and texts, and with its extra 4GB of data with an online sign-up, you’ll get a massive 12GB total a month. You’ll also be able to stream Apple Music without it counting towards your data cap. Total cost over 24 months is $2,520
Best budget option — Galaxy S8 | 1GB data | $550 talk and unlimited texts | $90pm
The cost of entry for the latest Samsung flagship with Telstra is $90 a month. Included you’ll get $550 of calls, unlimited text, 1GB of data, and streaming on Apple Music that won’t count toward your cap, so this is ideal if you’re after the coverage that Telstra offers but don’t use your device heavily. If this isn’t you, we’d recommend a different carrier as they tend to offer much more in the way of calls and data at this price point. Total cost over 24 months is $2,160
Biggest data option — Galaxy S8 | 35GB data | Unlimited national and international talk and text | $195 per month
You won’t have to worry about going over your cap here, with 35GB of included data and unlimited calls and texts locally and internationally. You’ll also get 1.5GB data roaming when abroad and can waive the $149 fee that normally applies if you wish to upgrade your handset and plan 12 months into the contract. Total cost over 24 months is $4,680
Best Galaxy S8 plans on Optus (August 2017)
Best overall value — Galaxy S8 | 10GB data | Unlimited talk and text | Optus Sport | $94 pm
Unlimited calls and texts, an extra 3GB and the inclusion of free Optus Sport make this an awesome value deal from Optus. There’s a good chance you won’t even reach that new total of 10GB considering this deal comes with a variety of music, TV, and movie streaming services not counting toward your data cap too. Total cost over 24 months is $2,256
Best budget option — Galaxy S8 | 1GB data | Unlimited talk and text | $72 pm
To get a Galaxy S8 on Optus you’ll need to drop at least $72 a month, but thankfully their lowest price tier still gives you plenty to play with, notably unlimited talk and text, and some offers that go a way in helping that 1GB last. The face that you get included streaming from several music services without it counting toward your data cap, will help you immensely in this area, so this plan is ideal for those that spend most of their data cap on these services anyway. Total cost over 24 months is $1,728
Biggest data option — Galaxy S8 | 100GB Data | Unlimited local, international, and roaming talk and text | $160 pm If you use mammoth amounts of data, Optus is absolutely dominating this field at the moment – with a whopping 100GB of included data, this almost triples the nearest competition. Not only that but you won’t have to worry about any calls or texts you make as they are all unlimited, even international and roaming calls, and you’ll also get a nifty 1.5GB of included roaming data a month. Total cost over 24 months is $3,840
Best Galaxy S8 plans on Vodafone (August 2017)
Overall best value — Galaxy S8 | 10GB data | Unlimited talk and text | $90 pm
Coming with an extra 8GB for a limited time (doubling the original 8GB offering), this plan is by far the best value on Vodafone at the moment. Unlimited talk and text and a total of 16GB make it a decent all-rounder, particularly in the data district, however overall this carrier isn’t as competitive as other carriers when it comes to included extras, but the core product is good value. Total cost over 24 months is $2,160
Best budget option — Galaxy S8 | 2GB Data | Unlimited talk and text | $77 pm
Although this contract doesn’t come with any extras, it is one of the better bang-for-your-buck budget plans out there, with an impressive 2GB of data and unlimited talk and text. Despite this, it doesn’t have any of the neat bonuses that come with Telstra, Virgin or Optus so if those are what you’re after, check out the other networks above. Total cost over 24 months is $1,848
Biggest data option — Galaxy S8 | 32GB data | Unlimited talk and text | $125pm
A bonus 10GB bumps this plan up from 22GB to 32GB, which is truly monstrous. As with all Vodafone plans, you’re getting unlimited calls and texts here, but unfortunately there aren’t any other perks at this premium price-tier such as are offered by Telstra and Optus networks. That’s fine if you’re purely after the data as it’s the cheapest ‘big data’ option, but you’ll be missing out on unlimited international calls from both Telstra and Optus’ top-tier plans. Total cost over 24 months is $3,000
