Facebook has been on fire in terms of imitating ideas in a unique way not so long ago, Facebook’s Instagram started featuring stories that was quite similar to that of snapchat which had leave the world in either being a dog or a rabbit and now the social company is exploring the idea of adding this capability to WhatsApp as well.
WhatsApp is planning something like a Snapchat Stories-like feature on its instant messaging and voice calling app. The feature, dubbed “Status,” is hidden in the newest public beta build of WhatsApp’s Android and iOS clients. As if whatsApp was not enough for several breakups due to its ‘last seen’ and ‘blue tick’ functions there is more to expect from them now.
WhatsApp is more likely to connect its users with something like short stories to share numerous updates in a day. Each of these instances of status has a lifespan of 24 hours, and can be shared with every contact on your WhatsApp, or with select people. The latest update is available under a “Status” tab on WhatsApp, which sits in the middle of existing “Chats” and “Calls” tabs.
The main theme behind this update is to let people enjoy more and interact with each other in a fun memorable way as well as when they are not talking to each other still they can get a hold on other person by checking out their stories in their “status” tab which is a pretty cool thing.
However it doesn’t seem like WhatsApp will be implementing this new feature to its stable version of the app anytime soon, though. Even the beta testers of its apps are currently required to download a third-party app to enable the new Status feature on their phone. It will be interesting to see if it ever comes to reality.
