Google is working on a project that brings Motion Tracking, Depth Perception and Area Learning to Mobile devices. The basic concept behind this amazing project is to build a mobile Device that can see how we see.This mind blowing project is known as Project Tango.
Project Tango combines 3D motion tracking with depth sensing to give your mobile device the ability to know where it is and how it moves through space.This Unbelievable technology gives cell phone the ability to navigate the physical world just like as humans. This project brings a new kind of spatial perception to Android platform by adding advance computer vision, image processing and special vision sensors.
There are actually three main areas of Project Tango.

Motion tracking basically allows a device to understand position and orientation using this projects custom sensors. This will give you real time information about 3D motion of a device.
Depth sensors in the project Tango can tell you the shape of the world around you. Understanding depth lets your virtual world interact with the real world in new ways.
Project Tango devices can use visual cues to help recognize the world around them. They can self-correct errors in motion tracking and relocalize in areas they’ve seen before.
According to Google “Project Tango works on various Android device platforms that run C, Java and Unity. As the technology evolves, it will support more software and hardware capabilities.
