Creating Database For Your Address Book

This application requires basic JAVA and SQL knowledge!

Things you need to install!

1) MySQL (with workbench)
2) Navicat (For SQL Database)

Now open MySQL workbench and create a localhost account.
After you have successfully created your account, open Navicat.

 

Connecting your MySQL account to Navicat

Now create a new connection on Navicat with the SQL account you just made.
Now create a new connection on Navicat with the SQL account you just made.

 

There is your new connection! If you don't find it here, it means you weren't able to create a successful connection.

Adding a new database in your connection

Now right-click on the connection name and click 'New Database'. Name your new database
Now right-click on the connection name and click ‘New Database‘. Name your new database “addressbook”

 

Now you have to make two tables in this new database

(Make sure you named the new database ‘addressbook‘ )!

One table will store all the information of the contact and the other table will keep the record of all the usernames and passwords!

  1. Name first table “information”.

  2. Name second table “usernamespasswords”.

Right-click on ‘tables’ and click  ‘new table’.

Now make your ‘information’ table look like this

Now create another table ‘usernamespasswords’ and make it look like this

That’s it! Your database work is done! You have successfully made a connection with MySQL and created the database which you will use in the application! 😀

    Hi, Thanks so much for this. well im a beginner in mysql, and the version of your Navicat says ‘Allow Null’ and mine says ‘Not Null’ does it mean i will uncheck ‘surname’, ‘City’, ‘Zipcode’ and ‘PINCODE’ in mine and check the rest? or I could get your version and do it exactly as it is.. Thanks so much..
